Hair Loss

What is Hair loss?

Hair loss, also known as alopecia, is defined by the loss of hair on a specific part of the body, typically the head. The severity can range from a small localised area to the entire body, often leading to stress in those experiencing it.

Normally, humans naturally shed between 50 and 100 individual hairs per day. This shedding is part of the natural hair growth cycle, where some hairs fall out while others grow in.

However, when this delicate balance is disrupted, causing hair to fall out at a higher rate than it regrows, it results in hair loss. It’s important to note that hair loss is distinct from routine hair shedding, and the medical term for this condition is “alopecia.”
