What is Acne?
Acne, a prevalent skin condition, impacts millions of individuals globally, particularly adolescents and sometimes adults. Approximately 95% of people experience acne at some stage in their lives. Although both genders can be affected, women aged 30 to 40 are notably susceptible. The most common form of acne is Acne Vulgaris.
Various factors, such as hormonal fluctuations, dietary habits, exposure to harsh environments, and side effects from specific treatments, trigger acne at any age. The accumulation of excess sebum (oil), bacteria, and dead skin cells results in pore blockage and the development of blemishes.
The impact of acne goes beyond physical symptoms, often causing emotional distress, particularly since the face is the primary affected area. Coping with acne can lead to stress, anxiety, negative self-image, and low self-esteem. Addressing both the physical and emotional aspects of this condition is crucial for overall well-being.
