Profhilo®
How does it work?
Profhilo® is formulated with a unique concentration of Hyaluronic Acid, a natural substance present in our bodies responsible for maintaining skin moisture. This formulation stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in the skin.
Administered through injections just below the skin’s surface, Profhilo® involves two sessions spaced four weeks apart. The substance quickly disperses, providing an immediate boost to hydration, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, and enhancing overall skin texture.

Frequently Asked Questions
After a Profhilo® session, there’s a chance of localised lumps forming at injection sites. Typically, these lumps subside within 4-6 hours post-treatment, although they can last up to 24 hours. Not every client experiences these swellings, but if concerns arise, contacting the clinic is advisable.
The downtime is minimal, with immediate visibility when administered using the five-point technique. However, they quickly diffuse and disappear entirely by the next day.
Recommendations post-treatment include avoiding physical strain, sports for 24 hours, further cosmetic procedures for 48 hours, and refraining from sauna or steamy baths initially. Sun exposure is to be limited in case of bruising or prolonged swelling.
Patients can anticipate visible results after two sessions.
Typically, people won’t easily see that you’ve undergone treatment, as Profhilo® results in enhanced, natural-looking skin. However, the outcome’s visibility depends on the skin condition being addressed and the desired results. Profhilo® can notably enhance skin laxity, with some patients experiencing visible lifting.
Hyaluronic Acid is well-tolerated by the skin, with reported side effects limited to bruising and mild swelling at injection sites. These effects are temporary, associated with the needle rather than the product.
Launched in February 2015 in Italy, Profhilo® has been globally used with over 150,000 treated patients and no reported adverse reactions. It is highly biocompatible, composed of ultrapure, natural Hyaluronic Acid without chemical cross-linking agents, reducing the risk of adverse reactions.
Post-treatment, common effects like mild redness, slight swelling, and possible bruising are considered normal. These effects typically subside within a few days to a week. Uncommon serious side effects may include worsening swelling, increased pain, heightened redness, pale/white or greyish skin near the treatment area, or a general feeling of unwellness. In such cases, immediate contact with the clinic or, if after hours, seeking help from a GP or A&E is recommended.
Experienced medical injectors tailor dermal filler treatments to individual needs. If results are not to your liking, the treatment will be discussed thoroughly in a bespoke consultation to align with your preferences, ensuring safe delivery based on your wishes.
Injectable treatments are not recommended if pregnancy is suspected or confirmed. Completing breastfeeding before returning for aesthetic treatments is also advised.
